Anambra Rep, Emeka Idu Calls on President Tinubu to Invest Heavily on Manufacturing Sector

The member representing Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Godwin Idu has urged President Bola Tinubu to Invest heavily in the manufacturing sector of the economy.

He noted that the manufacturing sector which has the capacity to produce different variety of products that can be exported, will earn Nigeria foreign exchange, revive the nation’s economy and address security challenges.

Speaking in an interview, Idu appealed to President Tinubu to ensure implementation of economic policies that will transform Nigeria to productive nation to end the economic hardship in the country.

Commenting on Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration, Hon Idu said that Nigeria has remained one indivisible entity and witnessed uninterrupted democracy from 1999 till date despites challenges.

The Federal lawmaker however expressed concern that after twenty-five years of democracy in Nigeria, the country is still grappling with insecurity, several economic challenges which had compelled some individuals and private companies to leave the country to other countries that have conducive environment for businesses.

The lawmaker pointed out that provision of adequate security for Nigeria on long term basis and investment in the production sector are part of the ways that will revive the nation’s economy and engender confidence and trust for investors to start trooping in.
The legislator also expressed his commitment to enacting laws and supporting policies that will improve the living standard of the people of Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency, South East Geo-political Zone and Nigeria in general.
