“I remain authentic APC Governorship Candidate in Imo State,” Nwosu insists
The alleged winner of recent All Progressive Congress governorship primary in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, insisted he is the authentic candidate of the party for 2019 governoship election in the state despite the submission of the name of Senator Hope Uzodinma to INEC by the party leadersship.
He described the National Chairman of his party, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, as a man who contradicts the truth by speaking from both sides of his mouth.
Nwosu, who was reacting to the decision of the chairman to substitute his name with that of Senator Hope Uzodinma as the governorship candidate of the APC in Imo state, vowed not to abandon “his mandate for anybody.”
He insisted that he remains the authentic candidate of the party, irrespective of Oshiomhole’s announcement that he had forwarded Uzodinma’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission as the party’s candidate in Imo State.
ding to Nwosu, his candidacy was secure and cannot be truncated by the National Chairman or any other person.
He vowed that he would never abandon the mandate given to him by the party members to be their governorship candidate in the 2019 election.
Nwosu said “my mandate is still intact, I still remain the candidate of the APC in Imo State. I’m very shocked by the National Chairman, who is speaking from both sides of his mouth. As a man of that age, I thought he would be upright.”
“I am shocked that a man, who has attained that age and who we should look up to as our role model has become somebody, who many of us can no longer see as a role model. I am shocked at the attitude of the National Chairman which does not give hope to young people, who have mostly look up to him for years”.
