The former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday arrived in Washington D.C., United States of America.
Abubakar said he was in the country for a meeting with US government officials and Nigerians.
“Just arrived in Washington D. C. for a meeting with US government officials, Nigerians living in D.C. metropolis and the business community,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle on Thursday night.
Atoku was alleged to be involved in a corruption case which prevented him from travelling to the US for the past 13 years.
The ruling All Progressives Congress had dared him to travel to the US to prove his innocence.
He however, arrived the country Thursday around 8.26pm posted a photo of his visit to the US.
He was accompanied by Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki among other people.
