The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise, Hon. Leke Abejide

Hon. Leke Abejide moved a motion on the need to stem the bank robberies in Kogi State and ensure the safety of people in the State and it was seconded by Rep. Abdullahi Halims.

Leading the debate Rep. Abejide bemoaned the wastage of lives and properties during these incessant robberies that have become too rampant in Kogi State, especially the Yagba area where he represents.

Abejide also expressed worry about how the robbery operations take place for hours without a response from security agencies and their operatives. He stated that this has emboldened the criminals who have made their operations more widespread and rampant.

He called on the relevant security agencies of government to ensure more proactive measures are taken to ensure the halt of such illicit activities henceforth, with the Yuletide period when more people will be around for the festivities is fast approaching.
