The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Land Transport, Hon. (Dr.) Abbas Tajudeen has warned against the disappearance of signages from various roads in the country.
In his remarks during a two-day national sensitization summit with the theme, security consciousness and safety compliance organised by his committee, Dr. Tajudeen said it is worrisome that road signs that usually indicate that “there is narrow road, hilly place, potholes, and give warning that danger is ahead have disappeared from the roads.
Tajudeen who represnts Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State called on the Feederal Ministry of Transportation and Feederal Road Safety Corps, FRSC to take necessary actions toward bringing road signages to various road in Nigeria.
He said the disappearance of these road signs is responsible for a lot of accidents on the roads.
Tajudeen also called on drivers to always drive with care. He said each driver should see himself as the only sane and responsible person on the road while others’are insane and crazy’.
The summit warned against bad and reckless driving, teenage driving, drink driving among others.
