Power outage nearly marred speech of Gov Bagudu
The Nigerian Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila have expressed gratitude to the governors elected under the platform of All Progressive Congress for ensuring their emergence as principal officers of the 9th National Assembly.
Speaking when the APC Governors paid courtesy call to the National Assembly leadership on Monday, Lawan said “the ball is now in our court” indicating that they will do the needful by ensuring whatever is needed to be done to enhance development by the legislative arm of government is done.
Similarly, Gbajabiamila told the progressive governors that they have been able to solve the house of assemnly leadership crisis in Bauchi State but unable to solve that of Edo State.
The Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum who is also the Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu said his forum has two committees namely, Governance and Legislative Affairs.
However, light in the Senate wing went off while Bagudu was making his remark. The power was restored few minutes before the conclusion of his speech.
He said the visit which is the first of its kind since the beginning of this administration was informed by their desire to deliver on their campaign promises.
