A presidential candidate, during the 1999 election in Nigeria, Olu Falae has resigned as National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Falae also announced that he will no longer be actively involved in politics.
On why he has decided to quit politics and stepped down as Chairman, Falae cited health
challenge as a major reason for his action, TVC, reports.

(SDP) on Thursday announced its withdrawal from the Feb. 16, presidential election.
Though Falae cited health challenge as his reason for his action, it was learnt that his decision to quit SDP may not be unconnected with the endorsement of President Muhamnadu Buhari for the next week election by SDP.
