…Umar Jega Receives Award of Excellence from Anti-Corruption Group

The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Refugees, Hon. Umar Mohammed Jega has said that there is need for re-orientation, patriotism, selfless and sincere service in order address the myriad of challenges facing Nigeria.

Hon. Jega said Nigeria is supposed to be one the greatest nations in the world in view of the abundance of both human and material resources.

“Nigeria supposed to be a great nation, we have everything to be one of the greatest nations in the world but some people are doing thing that will bring us down.”

Hon. Mohammed Umar Jeaga who represents Aleiro/Gwandu/Jega Federal Constituency of Kebbi State made this known when he received an award of Excellence “Nigeria Most Ethically Responsible Legislator” by an anti-corruption non governmental organization, Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation.

Jega said “it is unfortunate that we make one step forward and two steps backward.”

The Executive Director, Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu who said his organization is an anti-corruption one also said it stands against mediocrity and abuse of public and private office.

He said the award is to encourage hard work and dedication to service.
