Senate Adjourns to March 12

The Nigerian Senate reconvened on Tuesday after a 3-week break for the general election but adjourned to March 12.

It was observed that majority of the senators were absent during the plenary session that lasted for few minutes.

The outgoing Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki presided over the brief session which commenced about 10:45 am.

Senate Leader Ahmad Lawan moved for an adjournment to March 12 and it was unanimously adopted by about 10 senators who were present in the chamber on Tuesday.

Senator Saraki had lost his re-election bid during the parliamentary election on Saturday February 23, 2019.
