House of Reps Recommend Sack of NEMA DG Maihaja over Alleged Embezzlement of N33bn Relief Fund
The Houses of Representatives has recommended the sack of Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) Mr. Mustapha Maihaja over the alleged mismanagement and embezzlement of “over N33 billion
An ad hoc committee of the House which investigated the operations of NEMA under Maihaja recommended his sacking to President Muhammadu Buahri.
The committee was chaired by Mr. Ali Isa, a member from Gombe State.
It will be recalled that the the staff of the agency under the platform of the Association of Senior Civil Servant of Nigeria and Nigeria Civil Service Union of the National Emergency Management Agency Unit, recently embarked on an indefinite strike over the failure of the management under Maihaja to adhere to public service rules.
